About this site

Shaftesbury Hospital

Freda was accepted into the Queen Alexandra's Imperial Military Nursing Service and was initially posted to Shaftsbury Hospital for training. The document below is Freda's acceptance form for this training.

Below is Freda's order from the War office to report for training.

During her time at Shaftesbury, Freda acquired a photographic letter card of the town and surrounding area. These depict a rural and gentle place and you can view them by clicking on the thumbnail photographs.
